MEATH CHAMBERS MEET WITH NRA |
|
Members from Kells, Oldcastle & Navan Chambers met recently with officials from the NRA to discuss different items in relation to the M3 Motorway.
Below is a brief synopsis of the various concerns and the items that were discussed: - Two members from each of Kells, Navan & oldcastle Chambers met with Maurice Kelly & Jim Walsh from the NRA.
- Meath Chambers have agreed to lobby for one toll only on the M3 to be located at Blackbull.
- Members saw drafts of the type of signage to be used for the motorway and Kells bypass - standard international motorway signs with very little room for changes.
- NRA has agreed to e-mail chambers with progress updates and expected traffic disruptions, etc.
- Reinstatement of walls, etc in their original form is up to individual landowners.
- With new Kells bypass - NRA expects that there should be no problems of HGV's passing through the town centre.
- NRA believes that the motorway will not reach full capacity for 50 years - there should be no issues with traffic volumes.
- Artwork & Sculptors - interested parties should submit their ideas to Meath County Council's Arts Department.
We will have photographs of the sample signs published on this website shortly. |
