In relation to the areas of legal expertise within Nathaniel Lacy & Partners these can be divided, broadly speaking, into two separate departments. Patrick Rogers, together with an associate solicitor, Thea Carolan, run the vibrant general practice of the firm. This includes advising in relation to a broad range of general practice areas including residential and commercial conveyancing, advising clients on the contents of their wills including estate planning & dealing with the administration of estates, drafting enduring powers of attorney, security advice to lending institutions, extensive practice in the District/Circuit/High Court with respect to wards of court, personal injuries, equity matters, contracts, family law, conveyancing and land issues. Other services include representing clients before various administrative tribunals such as the Employment Appeals Tribunal, Rights Commissioners, Labour Court on behalf of both Employer and Employee.

Turning to the other side of the practice, the managing partner John Lacy, in addition to acting as coroner for Co Meath, has developed over the last 30 years a specialised practice advising a wide range of public, private and semi-state companies on varying aspects of commercial litigation. John's son, Nathaniel, joined this department of the firm from McCann FitzGerald Solicitors in 2007 where he worked extensively in the area of Commercial Litigation, including medical negligence litigation.

Nathaniel Lacy & Partners opened a branch office in Cashel, Co. Tipperary in 2009. Johanna Lacy, daughter of John Lacy, is the Principal Solicitor of this Branch Office, having spent the last 5 years practicing in the south-east. Johanna previously spent some time working in the Kells office from 2002 to 2004 before moving to Tipperary. She qualified in 1999 having trained with Matheson, Ormsby & Prentice in Dublin.
